How to: create a custom assessment

RESPONSUM allows you to create custom assessments with the Assessment Builder. These assessments can be used to create vendor assessments, data protection impact assessments, maturity assessments, transfers impact assessments or to do discovery exercises. The assessments can be linked to all items within RESPONSUM and can be shared with users as well as external non-licensed users.

Go > Assessments > Assessment Builder

Create a new assessment from a template

  1. Click “+ Add Assessment”.
  2. Click “Template Library”.
  3. Select a template.
  4. Provide a name and a description to the assessment.
  5. Add an assessment type: these types can be created by clicking on ‘+’. Adding a type allows you to structure the assessments.
  6. Add a linked item by clicking on “Add an item”, select the item that you want to link to the assessment. This will allow you to link it to a vendor, processing activity, DPIA,… You will be able to find the assessment linked to that item.
  7. Click on the next button
  8. In this builder view you can edit the template assessment by using the survey designer.
  9. Click save.

Create a new assessment from scratch

  1. Click “+ Add Assessment”.
  2. Click “New Assessment”.
  3. Provide a name and a description to the assessment.
  4. Add an assessment type: these types can be created by clicking on ‘+’. Adding a type allows you to structure the assessments.
  5. Add a linked item by clicking on “Add an item”, select the item that you want to link to the assessment. This will allow you to link it to a vendor, processing activity, DPIA,… You will be able to find the assessment linked to that item.
  6. Click on the next button.
  7. Toggle to switch between the builder and the manual way of creating the assessment questions.
    1. Survey designer: this allows you to create questions within the tool.
    2. Manual: this allows you to do a file upload: pdf/xls/word, that can be downloaded and uploaded by the assessment submitter.
  8. Click Save.

When the assessment is created, it can be shared with users and external stakeholders.
